A Different Perspective

To go along with the new studio and trying to really make it a go with photography...Josh and I bought a new lens. It's a 15mm fisheye that we've been needing for a long time. We have some great stock photography ideas and with Josh's love for landscapes, it's long overdue. We got it Thursday. And as of this morning it hadn't left the box. We've both been busy. Today I would have loved to take it down to the Cathedral of The Madeline, or scout out some of my favorite downtown scenes. But, as it is I am a stay at home mom. So I decided to make the best of what I had to work with as far as "subjects" go. And who are my best little accomplices?...my babies! I went on a little photo journey of my own, around my own home. I followed the kids for the afternoon to see things from their level. It was interesting, eye opening, and really hilarious. I did have to break a few rules that I laid for myself when I started. For example, I put down the camera to stop Jasmine from eating dog food, playing in the toilet, tearing all the clothes out of the drawer and trying to kill herself with my metal pan that weighs more than she does. Aside from those things...here was our day.

Come on let me listen to your heart, I know I could do a good job!

So our day started off with little nurse Jasmine and...

A crazed Star Wars PowerRanger.

Mason and his best friend. (After a wrestling match that yielded no good shots)

Are you really not going to tell me "No?"

Humm...this must be how her hands get wet after she's been in the frig. You learn something new everyday.

Big brother to the rescue! I don't even have to say anything. He heard her messing around in the frig and he came running to save the day. Just one of the many benefits of living with an anal child.

My goof ball. (with killer eyes!)

This is Izzy locking herself in my bedroom. How's she gonna get out of this?

Come on Mom! It's totally my turn.

Mason engaged Jasmine in a game of hide and go seek...

Sure enough, he was hiding in the closet!

It was a beautiful day, so we bundled up and went outside FINALLY!

It appears that these days he'd rather climb on top of his playhouse than play in it.

He is so damn cute!

So that was our day in a nutshell. I wish I could've put up all the photos. I laughed more today than I have in a long time. And it's just a guess, but I think I probably got better shots than I would have anywhere else in the Salt Lake Valley.

Shifting Gears

So a few things going on worth talking about. To start we are moving things around in the basement to make them more accomidating for a move. That's right...one of our little kiddos is moving down stairs! The room sharing thing isn't working out to well anymore so we are going to make the change. We are going to be doing some painting and putting down some new carpet. Well, new used carpet that is. Some white carpet from the inlaws that's in great shape to replace the hall and downstairs bedroom. We don't know which one for sure yet but Mason being the big brother that he is has volunteered to make the move and "see how it goes." We'll be sure to install plenty of nightlights!
We have had to change our focus a bit on the Rocky Mountain School of Photography. Do to some issues that we have been unable to resolve we are officially going to pass on the RMSP this summer. Sorry to all of you who were expecting us for a few months this summer. Things just didn't work out. But on a bright note we have expanded our search for education and found another amazing school that comes with great recommendation. It's located in Santa Fe, NM and runs workshops and classes all year long. There classes are one week at a time and cover a huge range of topics taught by many of todays published and professional greats. So we are looking into some of those for this summer. You can view the website just Google Santa Fe Workshops. It's pretty cool. As always we continue to move forward. ;-)
We have also taken a big step forward with our photography biz. We now have a studio in downtown Salt Lake City. (We'll post some pictures soon) And we are pushing forward with the business. Opening accounts and everything...yup we're real offical. So stand by because the Jag Photo Blog will be getting a facelift. Peace out all!!

From Hell To Heaven...Happy Valentines Day

So for the previous 5 days I have been wondering if I was living in hell. Jasmine is cutting every tooth in her mouth. Mason got sick which led to an ear infection that didn't hurt until 1am. Both kids were having trouble sleeping and decided to pass the time by yelling at each other to see who could be the loudest. (Mason began having nightmares...who could blame him!)In the middle of all of this Josh had to work 5 days in a row. Honestly, he never came home! I was tired, stressed and ready for my kids to have some Daddy time.
Finally Josh had a day off and everything came back into perspective for me. He played with the kids, helped out, and above all I had some adult conversation. SCORE. Better yet he has 4 days off now. Mason's ear infection is gone. We have Jasmine on a medicinal cocktail that is finally working and the nightmares have ceased. While I was playing with my littles ones today I was reminded that being a parent is the most rewarding accomplishment in the natural world. HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY from our house to yours.

Enjoying each other...and the rain.

SO CUTE!

I kept trying to take their photos but she wouldn't stop grabbing him and hugging or kissing him...not a bad problem to have.

My mom saved this dress for my daughter. I am so thankful that she kept so many things. It's amazing to see my baby in the same things my mom has pictures of me wearing. I'd say she wears it better!

Check it out!

Where Is A Rock Star When She Can't Be Found???

So...where is a Rock Star hiding out when Mommy searches the whole house and still the little Diva can't be found? In the corner of course...after she's helped herself to a snack and a big grin. Notice that she did think to grab a bib. Though it doesn't help too much when it's on the floor next to her. I laughed SO hard. The mess around her was terrible, but this was the cutest photo...so use your imagination!

My sister bought this darling onesie for Jasmine. (She got another REALLY cute one with a cross on it...photos to follow.) THANK YOU AUNT AMY!!! The lady who makes them sells them from her blog. www.MyLittleRockstar1.blogspot.com. I'm mostly sharing the info for the women in my life who have baby Rock Star's too! (Jess, I'm especially thinking of you...Jax needs the green "born-to-rock" one!) They are SO cute! ENJOY

Rock Star For Sure!

She loves playing in our mirror!
